It had everything to get the internet excited: A corporate giant (the company is from Samsung's STAR Labs), buzzwords (Avatars! Realistic AI assistants!) and confusion. Redditors combed the internet for details and YouTube channel Good Content pulled together a surprisingly comprehensive dossier on a company that's barely half a year old. Neon then officially announced itself to CES in a press release rich in hyperbole, complicated machine learning jargon and a pretty opaque mission statement. There was also the promise of Neons «reacting and responding in real-time». I had to see it for myself.

But if you've ever stopped and wondered «what is the Japanese titan up to these days?» then we heartily recommend watching its CES 2020 press conference. The company used its precious stage time to talk about the projection technology it deployed for the Tokyo 2020 'One Year to Go' ceremony and various Disney attractions including Star Wars: Galaxy Edge. Все самые интересные роботы с крупнейшей в мире выставки робототехники iREX, прошедшей в Японии. Гуманоидные роботы, роботы трансформеры, умные роботы, удивительные факты, роботы собаки и роботы, которые будут выполнять за человека самую опасную и грязную работу. Выставка собрала роботов из 637 компаний. Это рекорд и связан он с намечающимся в Японии кризисом нехватки рабочих рук. Японские инженеры утверждают, что роботы станут обыденностью уже в ближайшие годы и будут выполнять всю самую тяжелую, грязную и однообразную работу вместо человека.
На выставке были: робот аватар T-HR3 от Toyota, промышленные роботы Omron и знаменитый робот теннисист FORPHEUS. Новый гуманоидный робот от Kawasaki Kaleido, рядом с которым даже робот Федор выглядит вполне прилично. Роботизированные захваты от OnRobot, роборука D-Hand, промышленные роботы Denso, роботы для точечной сварки NACHI Fujikoshi, промышленный манипулятор Mitsubishi, робот мотоциклист от Yamaha Motor — Motobot, способный управлять даже самыми мощными мотоциклами Yamaha. Робот для обслуживания клиентов Ayuda, многочисленные роботы FANUC. На IREX можно было еще раз убедиться, что китайские робособаки размножаются с невероятной скоростью. Пример — JUEYING MINI, одна из многочисленных китайских копий SpotMini от Boston Dynamics.

Inside The City Where Waymo Tests Self-Driving Vehicles

Ordering one feels almost exactly like calling a Lyft or Uber, except for one thing: the vans drive themselves. Alphabet's Waymo has been testing self-driving vehicles in Arizona since 2017 and we got a look at what it's like.
Alphabet’s self-driving car company Waymo has built the world’s smartest vehicles with access to the world’s best artificial intelligence, but there’s one barrier that it might have underestimated: people.
In the last few months, the company has gained regulatory approvals, improved its driving systems using Alphabet’a AI assets and partnered with other auto manufacturers. Its cars have driven more miles than any other company’s.
But the community closest to Waymo’s main testing grounds in Phoenix, Arizona, said that the human element remains complicated, from hiring more drivers and support staff to working with city officials and emergency response staff.
CNBC visited Phoenix to check out Waymo’s progress earlier this month, weeks after the company launched its first actual business, Waymo One, a commercial robotaxi service in the Phoenix area. Meanwhile, competitors like Uber, Tesla and General Motors subsidiary Cruise are all planning their own self-driving car technology in a market estimated to garner $556.67 billion by 2026.
